Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Reclaim is an Android application designed to help users reduce screen time by blocking distracting apps during focus sessions. It is developed and maintained as an independent project.

2. Information We Collect

We collect nothing. Reclaim does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information whatsoever.

Specifically, Reclaim does not collect:

• Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Device identifiers or hardware information
• Usage statistics or analytics
• App usage patterns or browsing history
• Contacts, messages, or any other personal content

3. Local Data Storage

Reclaim stores the following data locally on your device only, using Android SharedPreferences:

• Your list of blocked apps
• Your blocking session start time
• Your custom block message (if set)
• Whether blocking is currently enabled

This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to any cloud service by Reclaim. It is deleted permanently when you uninstall the app or clear app data.

4. Permissions Explained

Reclaim requests the following Android permissions:

• Accessibility Service — detects which app is in the foreground so we can block it. We do not read screen content, keystrokes, or any other data.
• Display Over Other Apps — shows the blocking screen on top of blocked apps.
• Receive Boot Completed — awareness of device restart so the service description is accurate.

Reclaim does not request internet, camera, microphone, contacts, location, or storage permissions.

5. Third-Party Services

Reclaim uses no third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, advertising networks, or crash reporting tools. There are no trackers of any kind embedded in the app.

6. Children's Privacy

Reclaim does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we collect no data at all, there is no special risk to children's privacy.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy in a meaningful way, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify users via a Play Store update note.
